Rock the Competition

Join GSA for the 3rd Annual Geology Club Tee-Off! Geology and environmental science clubs from across GSA's six Geographic Sections will face off in a bracket-style competition to showcase their creativity, community spirit, and love for all things geology. Bring your best design to the table and compete for prizes, recognition, and a chance to be crowned the champion of the 2026 Geology Club Tee-Off.

The Competition

In this single-elimination tournament, two geology club logo designs will compete head-to-head. Cast your vote each day for your top pick, and the most popular image will advance to the next round. Daily match-ups will continue as winners move through subsequent rounds, until the ultimate showdown decides our champion.

Submission Guidelines

One submission per college or university.
Designs should be created for the front of the shirt only; please do not submit back-of-shirt designs.
The design must be geology-inspired and should not include your college or university name. All schools will be recognized together on the back of the shirt.
Each club must submit a new design (resubmissions from the previous year will not be accepted for consideration).

How It Works

1. Regional Competitions:

Geology clubs will submit their “GeoClub” T-shirt logo by the submission deadline on 24 February 2026. Clubs will rally their friends, family, and fellow geology enthusiasts to vote for their design online. Each Section’s winning club will advance to the national finals in May.

2. The National Finals:

A final round of voting, held 5–7 May 2026, will determine the champion of the competition. The champion will be announced on 8 May 2026.

3. The Prize:

$500 for each Section finalist.
$500 for the national champion club (in addition to the first $500 won as a Section finalist).
The champion design will be featured on a T-shirt sold at GSA Connects 2026.
National champion club receives up to 20 free shirts with their winning design for their club members.

Submission Opens: 20 January 2026
Submission Deadline: 24 February 2026
Regional Competitions: Voting will take place leading up to each of GSA’s Section Meetings in 2026. Each Section’s bracket will follow the general timeline below, with the exact round structure finalized after submissions are reviewed.

South-Central: 8-11 March 2026
Southeastern: 8-11 March 2026
North-Central: 8-11 March 2026
Northeastern: 21-24 March 2026
Rocky Mountain: 10 April 2026*
Cordilleran: 21-24 April 2026

National Finals: 5-7 May 2026

*Due to the Rocky Mountain Section Meeting taking place from 17–20 May 2026, voting will be moved to early April. The final round will take place on 10 April, the exact dates will be announced soon.
